The Romance Addict

I'm a student from Kolkata, India. I was barely 3 yrs old when I first read a book and since then there has been no stopping me when it comes to books.I'm not just obsessed about books.I have other hobbies(skating, painting) and ambitions(I'm studying to be a comp sci. engineer and someday make my parents really really proud of me).But BOOKS are something I have always been passionate about. I've learned so much from them.Reading a book is like entering a whole new world. It gave me dreams, hope and friends. And IMO, there is nothing else that someone needs when they have a great book with them. Ok, say maybe I'm a little obsessed. Reading has given me so much. So, I figure writing reviews on the books I read is my way of thanking the community. It is something I can give back. It is my way of helping the authors & publishers so that they keep writing & publishing wonderful books. I don't promise to always write a review for every book I read or as soon as I read, but I'll write as many reviews as possible. Also, I won't let any personal feelings towards any author/publisher compromise any review I write.

Poison Study

Poison Study - Maria V. Snyder ★★★★½

This is such a great book! The author does a commendable job with MCs. Yelena's character is so different from usual YA heroines. Valek grew on me and in the end I loved them both so much! My only pet peeve is that author should have given some time to their romantic relationship but I guess the author's intent was to let it grow in the whole series. The power twins were so sweet and charming! Can't wait to read the next book!

Divorced, Desperate and Delicious

Divorced, Desperate and Delicious - Christie Craig ★★★½

This was my first book by author Christie Craig. It was a light fun and enjoyable read. The characters were adorable, both the MCs and the supporting characters!
My only dissatisfaction was that the MCs spent only two days with each other and fell in love and the book ended with a marriage proposal. Given that both the MCs were greatly opposed to commitment in the beginning, this situation seemed highly unlikely! Otherwise it was an enjoyable read overall.

The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy

The Secrets of Sir Richard Kenworthy - Julia Quinn ★★★½

Julia Quin is a favourite author of mine. I generally rate her books between 4-5 stars. This book started off well, but somehow failed to deliver its promise. I loved Iris but was not really fond of other supporting characters. I did not even like Sir Richard. But the ending single-handedly managed to bring the book down to 3.5 stars. The ending felt hasty and incomplete not to mention in-abrupt. I couldn't get how Richard suddenly did an about-face and realized his mistake. Also, how easily Iris forgave him for what he did to her. It seemed that Ms. Quinn was in bit of hurry to end this book! Even the epilogue lacked some of the charm it usually carries in JQ novel. But still being a JQ fan, I'm happy that I read it one time atleast.
